 Annual Fund
Along with proceeds from the Philadelphia International Flower Show and membership dues, gifts to the Annual Fund provide unrestricted support for Philadelphia Green programs and services, allowing PHS to carry out its mission to improve the quality of life and create a sense of community through horticulture. Philadelphia Green supports community gardens, revitalizes neighborhood parks, organizes tree plantings, and cares for spectacular public landscapes throughout the city.

Recurring Gift Program
Spreading your gift out over the course of the year is an easy way to increase the size of your gift by making monthly, quarterly or semi-annual installments with a credit card. Each period, the amount you designate will be charged to your credit card. A letter of acknowledgement will be sent after each installment. Contributions to the Annual Fund are 100% tax deductible.
Greener Giving – a paperless giving program
Greener Giving allows you to elect to automatically renew your gift to the Annual Fund with a credit card on the anniversary of your gift date, significantly reducing the number of paper communications you receive from PHS about giving, while also reducing the carbon footprint of your gift. Additionally, Greener Giving allows PHS to maximize your gift by putting resources directly towards Philadelphia Green programs, instead of mailings throughout the year.
You can also spread your Greener Giving contribution out over the course of the year, by making installments in the frequency you choose (i.e. monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, etc.). Gift a Tree
Trees are the ultimate multi-taskers. They provide many aesthetic, environmental, social, and economic benefits to urban, suburban, and rural communities. Your donation of any amount will support tree plantings throughout the region. Click here to make a secure donation online in support of trees. Please note your intention to make a tree gift in the comments field. You may also download a donation form which can be submitted by mail (please see below).
Tree gifts are also a wonderful way to celebrate special occasions such as birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, graduations, or as an expression of sympathy. Suggested tree gifts include:
· Riparian Tree Plantings – A gift of $25 will plant one small (3 – 4 feet) native tree along streams in Fairmount Park, and public lands or private protected lands in Bucks, Chester, Delaware and Montgomery counties.
· Neighborhood Tree Plantings – A gift of $200 will support the purchase of a large (8-10 feet) tree that will be planted in a Philadelphia neighborhood park.
Please note: Attaching name plaques to trees is not a recommended best practice. Not having name plaques allows 100% of your gift to be directed to the planting and care of trees.

Matching Gifts
If your employer has a matching gifts program, your gift to PHS
could be doubled or tripled. Matching gift forms are generally available
through your employer's human resources department.
Gifts of Stock
Gifts of securities are simple to donate and may provide favorable tax benefits. Appreciated securities, held for more than one year, may be deducted from taxable income without paying a capital gains tax on the appreciated portion of the gift. Gifts of securities are credited on the date of transfer to PHS and are valued at the mean of the high and low quoted sales price on the day of the gift. Gifts of stock to the Annual Fund are 100% tax deductible.
It is important that you notify PHS before making a gift of stock. Without such notice, gifts of stock may be transferred to PHS with the identity of the donor unknown, making proper credit and timely acknowledgement difficult. Tribute Gifts
Perfect for birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, graduations, or as an expression of sympathy, a tribute gift is a wonderful way to honor family and friends throughout the year. A personal acknowledgment is sent to the family or individual being honored. Tribute gifts are 100% tax deductible.
Make an unrestricted gift to the Annual Fund which supports PHS programs and services throughout the Philadelphia area including: park revitalization, neighborhood tree plantings, community garden support, civic space maintenance, and educational offerings.
